Third Trimester

Happy Third Trimester to Me and O'Baby!

It's kinda crazy to realize we're at this point. Trust me, it doesn't feel quite the same back when we were so giddy those first few weeks of pregnancy! I feel fat. I look big...so, I'm glad we're moving in the right direction of meeting this kid and ending this pregnancy thing!

Oh, but we're excited! We are slowly putting the baby's room together.
New fan - check!
Removal of scary old fan - hmmm. not so check
Paint color - check
Actual paint on the wall - well...there are swatches, does that count?
New dresser - check!!!!!!
Stained? - working on it!

So, you see we ARE moving in the right direction - heck, we have 3 months left...I'm sure that's plenty of time. Right?? RIGHT??????

Oh, and here's a few pics to show you our progress:

Holy Calendar, Batman!!

So, I got my 26th week update this morning. That's cool, we're cooking along.

THEN I noticed 98 days to go!

WHHAAA???

When did we make it under the 100 days mark! I don't know why this scares me more than 14 weeks left, but it does. That's just me...I'm weird!

Wow, little dude, guess you'll be here pretty soon! Might actually have to start working on this name thing. Getting excited about the shower thing. Slowly making progress on the nursery thing. So, I'm sure all these 'things' will be just fine and settled when you get here. Everything will be perfect and harmonious, right? =) Right....

Be Careful What You Ask For

The other night was a bad night as far as sleep goes. Everything hurt. My back hurt. My arms hurt. My knees hurt (sadly nothing new there). It was bad.

So, what did I do? Why, I woke my poor hubby up! He tried massaging for a while, but that was just not helping, so I said bring on the drugs. He was sweet enough to get up and go find the Tylenol for me. He came back with the regular kind and what I thought was the extra strength kind at first. Then he said, "here's the acetaminophen, and here's the Reconcile."

The what? That's Ryker's spazoid medicine (that, by the way, doesn't do a darn thing!).

Hmmm, could have worked, but I went with the tried and true.

So, word to the wise, be careful what you ask for at 2 in the morning, and try to be awake enough to know what you get! =)

Pottery Barn, For Shame!

So, Joe has done a great job of trying to figure out our clashing furniture issues with PBK. After talking with the store associates and manager, and design center, and I'm sure some other people, Joe and whoever were able to decide upon sending out a second Kendall dresser to compare and hopefully match the crib we love.

Well, it was supposed to arrive yesterday. Grandma Holly was planning to meet me at my house to make sure I wasn't crazy and we didn't get stuck with something we didn't really like. The delivery guys of course showed up earlier than scheduled and I'm freaking out all alone.

I go ahead and ask them to bring the new one in to compare with the current one and the crib. As soon as they unwrap it, I know...

IT'S FREAKIN' ORANGE!!!

It's oranger and grainier looking than the first. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

If they are supposed to be from the same Kendall collection from Pottery Barn Kids, shouldn't they match? Isn't that what we're paying you for PBK?

Ah, well, after even the delivery guys agreed it was orange and not brown like the crib, I said thank you very much but please take them back!

So, the quest continues for OB's dresser. Not a big deal, just a deal. =)

Hello Baby - Week 22!

Little dude! You are getting so big! This week, you are about the size of a spaghetti squash (I'm not sure I've ever seen one in person, but whatever!) You are almost 11 inches long and weigh nearly a pound! You are continuing your development and looking like a tiny little person -- because you are! Way to go baby, keep growing strong!

O'Baby's First Videos

Just wanted to share a few of the amazing videos that were captured during O'Baby's last sonogram, when we found out he was a BOY!

In this first one, you can see his little heart beating and he even does a bit of chewing or something along with playing with his hands above his head!
Look, and he even knows how to wave! Way to go little dude!

Movin' Around

The last few weeks I've had the enjoyment of feeling O'Baby start moving around. It is definitely not all the time and nothing major yet, but it's still fun.

I thought after reading some Internet stuff it would be little butterflies or flutters. Not so much. Seems OB is more of a flipper, somersaulter -- giving quick, solid flips and jerks. Maybe that should of been a tip-off he was a boy?

Can't wait for Joe and Ryker to join in the fun too. Wonder what the dog will do when my tummy kicks him! =)
