Have You Seen my Baby?

Have you seen my baby? That tiny little squanchy guy? Who slept on your chest, fit in a little bassinet and slept half the day?

I think aliens have taken him and replaced him with this huge, growing, squirming, constantly-moving, hardly-stopping toddler wannabe!

He is kicking our tails I say!

Little O had his 9-month check-up this past week!

Weight: 20 lbs 14 oz - 50%

Height: 30 in - 90%

Head: 90%

We have one tall, slimmed down little boy! He is wearing 9-12 month clothes, and we've gone back to size 3 diapers because his thighs have finally shrunk down!

Owen is CONSTANTLY on the move. He wants your fingers and he wants to walk ALL THE TIME! He loves to play with his puppy even if it means he's getting licked. We are saying Mammmaamammaa and Dadddadddadddaa and throwing in a few NiNi's and TH-sounds too. He gestures with his hands, and is pretty much just a hoot.

He certainly tires us out pretty quick these days as he always wants to be up and at them. We have also started eating more table foods. So far O has tried, cheese, apple, peas (didn't do so well with the shells), Cheerios , crackers, chicken and a bit of lunch meat. Way to go O!

Well, I do miss my tiny baby, but I am madly in love with my little boy!

You've seen the baby ripping paper. You've seen the baby reacting to his mama's sneezes, BUT have you seen the baby mocking his mom for having the hiccups?

You haven't?? You haven't seen the cutest kiddo in the world laughing at his poor parent? Well, let me help you out here...

Without further ado, "Owen: The Boy Who Laughed"

Holy 9 Months, Batman!

Owen is 9 months! NINE MONTHS!

He's been out longer than he's been in! I know I say this every month now, but really, how did he get this big so quickly?

We are in nine or 12 month clothes. As we are losing some of our baby chunk and slimming down a bit. We are still somewhere in the middle of size 3 or 4 diapers, so we've mostly been putting him in 4's and hiking them up to his elbows (ok, not really).

Our favorite things to do these days are:
1. Walking - we have to walk everywhere. Which means, Joe or the nearest two-legger has to walk everywhere with him too. O gets frustrated if he has to sit down. He wants to stand and GO! He loves holding onto the deck or the coffee table or his activity table, and sometimes forgets he can't quite do it on our own yet, and lets go...again...constant supervision for this kiddo!!!

2. Books! We love reading some of our books now, as he LOVES to turn the pages, or at least flinging them one way then the other as fast as we can! He is also a big fan of grabbing all the books off his bookshelf and throwing them on the floor. I call this is rock-star behavior.

3. EAT CHEERIOS or Puffs! Yep, we're slowing creeping into finger foods. We are an excellent self-feeder, only missing our mouth on occasion. We have also dabbled in rice, tortillas and bread. Who knows, mommy might get her act together and get you some veggies and fruit one of these days.

It is so fun to watch Owen turn into a little boy and come out of his blob baby stage. He laughs now. I've decided though he isn't a giggler. He kinda sounds like a donkey when he's all excited and I love it. It's just him! He LOVES his puppy, getting a big grin on his face when he sees him! He LOVES his daddy when he comes home from work he gets all excited and bounces up and down!

O definitely knows what he wants and when he wants it, even if we don't. I foresee a great go-getter personality in this one for the future!

Here's to you, our little Irish Boy on this day of St. Patty's! We love you, you wee bairn!
