Nursery Update

We are getting closer to actually creating a room for the little dude! We got two important pieces last week and I can't wait to put them into place.

1. The dresser! It looks fab-o and think it will be oh, so much better than what Pottery Barn Kids had to offer anyhow.

2. Artwork! Grandma Holly is an amazing artist and here are a few of the friends O'Baby will get to talk with over the next few years!

These are some of the characters that went with the bedding for Land of Nod, and a few we made up along the way. The names, you ask? Just thought it would add a bit of personality to them! =)

We just need to do wee bit of touch-up paint and we'll be good to go to start putting everything in place!

30 Week Appointment

Today's appointment went well. I have been a little on edge about this one since we were going to learn if we'd be able to try for a 'normal birth' (my ideal option) or know we are headed straight for a c-section. our prayers were answered and things moved where they needed to to let us try for option one!

Boy are we excited!

We forgot to bring a dvd to the visit, so Joe tried to capture it on our point-n-shoot camera's video option (however, can't get the video to load, will try to scan photos soon!). O'Baby is a whopping 3 lbs, 15 oz. -- almost 4 lbs. His little feet are a bit over 2 inches in length. So, we're all progressing along well!

This week, we will also be painting the baby's room! I'm excited to start getting that more in place and things put up.

30 weeks!

Yikes! Tomorrow is 30 weeks. It seems so fast and so slow at the same time.

This weekend, Joe and I attended our Prepared Childbirth class at the hospital where we will deliver. It was taught by a very nice nurse from the hospital. She was British and told it like it is, so that was also fun.

We learned some good info on what to look for and what actually happens during birth. We got to talk to a pediatrician and an anesthesiologist, as well as go over some relaxation things. I think the biggest thing I took away from the class was how freakin' big 1o centimeters is! OH MY GOD! There is nothing left to say on that.

I think it was also great for Joe to get a bit of a crash course in what has been going on the last few months with mom and baby and what will happen when the real business stats!

Tomorrow, with our 30-week appointment we have a sonogram to see where the placenta (ewww, icky word) is attached and see how everything is going. I'm a bit nervous, but just trusting God to take care of us and O'Baby!

Cannot believe we are like 2 months away at this point. Sounds long in one sense and soooooooo very soon in another. Prayers are always accepted and appreciated!

And no, little dude still doesn't have a name.

Feeling Down and Out

The last few days have been really hard. We've been battling cold/allergy symptoms over here at Ft. O'Brien. And on top of that, my back has decided to wage war as well.

I have had back pain before, always the lower back. A few advil usually did the trick or a good night's sleep. Well, advil is out. Extra strength tylenol seems like a joke at this point, and a good night's sleep has been hard to come by between cold stuff and baby stuff.

So, needless to say, I am sad and hurting. =( I've missed spending time with my family and barely made it through Easter service at church. blarg.
