Today's appointment went well. I have been a little on edge about this one since we were going to learn if we'd be able to try for a 'normal birth' (my ideal option) or know we are headed straight for a c-section. our prayers were answered and things moved where they needed to to let us try for option one!
Boy are we excited!
We forgot to bring a dvd to the visit, so Joe tried to capture it on our point-n-shoot camera's video option (however, can't get the video to load, will try to scan photos soon!). O'Baby is a whopping 3 lbs, 15 oz. -- almost 4 lbs. His little feet are a bit over 2 inches in length. So, we're all progressing along well!
Thanks for your prayers and support! They are greatly appreciated!
This week, we will also be painting the baby's room! I'm excited to start getting that more in place and things put up.

30 weeks!
Yikes! Tomorrow is 30 weeks. It seems so fast and so slow at the same time.
This weekend, Joe and I attended our Prepared Childbirth class at the hospital where we will deliver. It was taught by a very nice nurse from the hospital. She was British and told it like it is, so that was also fun.
We learned some good info on what to look for and what actually happens during birth. We got to talk to a pediatrician and an anesthesiologist, as well as go over some relaxation things. I think the biggest thing I took away from the class was how freakin' big 1o centimeters is! OH MY GOD! There is nothing left to say on that.
I think it was also great for Joe to get a bit of a crash course in what has been going on the last few months with mom and baby and what will happen when the real business stats!
Tomorrow, with our 30-week appointment we have a sonogram to see where the placenta (ewww, icky word) is attached and see how everything is going. I'm a bit nervous, but just trusting God to take care of us and O'Baby!
Cannot believe we are like 2 months away at this point. Sounds long in one sense and soooooooo very soon in another. Prayers are always accepted and appreciated!
And no, little dude still doesn't have a name.

It's a...
Don't think we could have asked for a better appointment today! After not being able to go to sleep for quite a while some time between 2 and 4 this morning, 7 a.m. sure did come early! We had a lovely breakfast and went on down to the doctor's office. I was hoping O'Baby would cooperate and we would be able to tell whether it was a he or a she TODAY and not have to wait and wonder any more. Boy, oh boy, did O'Baby comply!
As soon as the sono tech put the gizmo on my belly, we could TELL! No searching, no wondering! Hello little boy O'Brien!
After a bit of fishing around, the tech said all looked well and healthy so far! What a blessing!Joe and I were doing good not to think one way or the other. Because really, we have nothing to do with it at this point and we would be so excited and blessed with either a boy or a girl. But, we definitely are excited. I see lots of baseball lessons in our future!
Off to celebrate with the family tonight!
Then next, pondering names and a new paint color for the room!
Hello Mr. O'Brien, we can not WAIT to meet you!!!

Pluggin' Ahead
Had a good meeting this week with our actual doctor. She took the time to answer our questions for us and make us feel at ease.
Yeppers! Punxsutawney Phill will be making the big announcement on February 2, 2010! AKA, Groundhog's Day!
Wooohoo! Cannot wait!
We have come to the conclusion for now that we will stick with the doctor we have for now. We have also resolved to know that we will not be in love with her PA, but be assured that she will deliver proper care for me and O'Baby.
And more importantly, we will trust that God has a plan for us on this journey and he will take care of all of us along the way. I may need reminding, but I am happy to trust on that fact!
The other fun thing is we have a date to find out just who O'Baby O'Brien is!
Wooohoo! Cannot wait!
